This Privacy Policy explains how TimeAI ("we", "us"), available at askthehour.com, handles information when you use our website. We've tried to keep both the app and this policy simple: we do not require accounts and we collect as little as possible.
Information we collect
- No account needed. You can use TimeAI without signing up. We do not ask for your name, email, or password.
- Settings stored in your browser. Your light/dark theme preference is saved locally in your own browser (via localStorage). It never leaves your device and we cannot read it.
- Things you type into the Smart Time Assistant. When you ask the assistant a question, your message is sent to our server and on to our AI provider (Anthropic) to generate a reply. Please don't enter sensitive personal information into the assistant.
- City searches for weather. When you look up weather, the city name you enter is sent to Open-Meteo to fetch the forecast.
- Basic technical logs. Like most websites, our host (Vercel) may automatically record standard request information (such as IP address and browser type) for security and reliability. We do not use this to identify you personally.
Advertising and Google AdSense
We use Google AdSense to display ads, which helps keep TimeAI free.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to TimeAI and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info.

Cookies
TimeAI itself does not set its own tracking cookies. Cookies on this site come primarily from Google AdSense, as described above. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings.
Third-party services we use
- Google AdSense — advertising.
- Anthropic (Claude) — powers the Smart Time Assistant.
- Open-Meteo — weather and sunrise/sunset data.
- Vercel — website hosting.
Each of these providers handles data under its own privacy policy.
Children's privacy
TimeAI is a general-audience tool and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date above.
